FM Conway is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Aggregate and Asphalt division. In this role, you will help keep our asphalt plants operating safely and efficiently by carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and improvement work across multiple sites. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will work remotely, covering our Asphalt Plants in Erith, Heathrow, Reading, Theale, Aldershot, Croydon and Newhaven, with regular travel between sites required.
The duties of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer role will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and reactive repairs on electrical and mechanical plant equipment
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical installations, repairs and improvements to minimise plant downtime
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with electrical regulations, permit to work systems and lock off/tag out (LOTOTO) procedures
- Maintaining electrical compliance records, documentation and maintenance schedules
- Supporting engineering projects, including equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning
- Working closely with Plant Managers and Operators to improve plant reliability, performance and efficiency
- Responding to out-of-hours breakdowns and travelling to other FM Conway sites when required
- Supervising contractors and mentoring apprentices and colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge
- Completing maintenance records, risk assessments and reporting any faults, incidents or safety concerns
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture by leading by example and ensuring high housekeeping standards
What skills and experience do you need?
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer with a Level 3 qualification in an electrical discipline, City & Guilds 2330 (or equivalent) and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. You will have previous experience working within a manufacturing, industrial or process plant environment, with strong fault-finding skills and a good understanding of PLCs, control systems, electrical drawings and electrical compliance. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the travel required, while mechanical maintenance experience, HV Authorised Person qualifications and plant equipment certifications would be advantageous.
