FM Conway is looking to recruit an experienced Loading Shovel Operative to join the Aggregate and Asphalt division based in Erith. As our Loading Shovel Operative you will be involved in a range of tasks relating to the manufacture of asphalt, including production, dispatch and mobile plant operation. This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 4 on 4 off shift which covers days and nights.
The duties of the Loading Shovel Operative role will include:
- Operating the loading shovel and mobile plant equipment
- Assisting with the production of asphalt through the loading of materials into the asphalt plant
- Carrying out daily checks and basic maintenance on all mobile plant as required, reporting any defects accurately and in a timely manner
- Operating other items of mobile plant, such as a telehandler and MEWP
- Operating the weighbridge, controlling the dispatching of orders and liaising with the commercial team
- Carrying out daily housekeeping duties as required
- Following site health and safety procedures
What skills and experience do you need?
To be considered for this role you must have a full UK driving license and valid loading shovel license. You will have demonstrable understanding of health and safety legislations and ideally will have worked in an Asphalt or similar environment.
