FM Conway is currently recruiting for an Incident Response Unit - HGV to join our dynamic Transport for London division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in both reactive and planned highway maintenance, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of London’s road network as part of the Transport for London Highway Maintenance and Projects Framework. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Beddington Lane office in Croydon, South London.
The duties of the Incident Response Unit - HGV will include:
- Carrying out a wide range of on-site maintenance tasks, including reinstating paving slabs, repairing asphalt surfaces, installing or replacing kerbstones, and fixing damaged signs, bollards, guardrails, and other street assets.
- Meeting productivity targets and quality benchmarks in line with FM Conway and TfL expectations.
- Contributing to a culture of safety by identifying hazards, reporting near misses, and promoting best practice.
- Organising and transporting the necessary tools, equipment, and materials to and from the worksite.
- Carrying out all works with care and with attention to health and safety, using the appropriate tools and safeguards.
- Logging completed works, defect status, materials used, and site photos using digital systems.
What skills and experience do you need?
We are looking for an experienced Incident Response Unit - HGV with a strong background in reactive works, including masonry, asphalting, and winter maintenance. Candidates should ideally hold an NRSWA Operative qualification and a valid CSCS card, demonstrating their competency in safe and compliant site practices. The role requires individuals who can work efficiently, maintain high standards of workmanship, and operate effectively within a fast-paced maintenance environment. A HGV Class 2 licence is essential, as the position involves operating company vehicles to support a range of highway maintenance activities.
