FM Conway are excited to be recruiting for a Street Lighting Apprentice to join our Street Lighting division, based fromourUxbridge depot, working on our Kensington and Chelsea and Brent contracts. As our Street Lighting Apprentice, you will be learning the relevant skills and knowledge to support the team with excavations in the highway, erecting and installing highway infrastructure and gaining basic knowledge of electrical systems and procedures, whilst also gaining your Level 2 Highways Electrical Maintenance and Installation Operative qualification.

The duties of the Street Lighting Apprentice will include:

– Assisting a small team working on electrical street lighting installations, gaining hands-on experience, and developing technical skills

– Developing the ability to interpret scaled drawings of basic electrical installations and gain experience in excavations & reinstatements in composite, modular, granular & asphalt surfaces

– Undertaking other duties and ad hoc projects, as required by the business, with possible out of hours work including weekend and night works, under supervision

– Learning and working within Health and Safety plans, Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments

– Being responsible for the successful completion of all elements of your apprenticeship qualification, mandatory enrichment events, and work-related training

What skills and experience do you need?

As our Street Lighting Apprentice, you will be expected to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of responsibility, and excellent attention to detail. To qualify for this apprenticeship course, you will ideally have a grade 4 and above in Maths and English. You will also be working in various FM Conway sites and customer locations, so we require you to hold a full UK driving license for this position.
