FM Conway is currently recruiting an experienced Buyer to join our Procurement team. As our Buyer, you will focus on targeting key spend areas across the business and raise tenders to suppliers to reduce costs. You will actively seek new supply chain partners from both the UK and overseas as well as report and monitor spend trends. This is a 9‑12 month, fixed‑term contract based out of our Head Office in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Duties
- Raising and implementing supply chain agreements with new and existing suppliers/subcontractors while managing our existing supply chain database.
- Liaising with different divisions within the business to assist in reducing costs and ensuring the company is buying at the most competitive rates available.
- Producing system reports and monitoring the status/value of procurement liability for the business.
- Negotiating fixed‑rate deals with suppliers in order to obtain the most suitable and cost‑effective options for the company.
- Negotiating at tender stage, right through to procuring for projects.
- Drafting, preparing and presenting monthly spend reports to the main board of directors.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a Buyer with previous experience in a commercially focused organisation who can demonstrate appropriate use of quality, risk and health and safety procedures. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels in the organisation.
