FM Conway is currently recruiting for an Apprentice Engineer to join our Consultancy division. As our Apprentice Engineer, you will work in a supportive learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge required to complete your Level 4 or Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering. While studying, you will contribute to a range of structural engineering design projects as part of the Consultancy team and assist with structural inspections. This will provide valuable exposure to different areas of the industry and help you build practical experience. The role combines hands-on work, academic learning, and support towards achieving further professional qualifications or membership. This is a full time, permanent role, based at our head office in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Responsibilities
- Pursuing your studies to gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of a Structural Engineer
- Attending internal training diligently and playing a lead role in your upskilling and development in the workplace
- Working as part of the engineering team taking instructions from senior engineers
- Working with the engineering team to deliver works required efficiently and to a safe standard
- Working with the engineering team to develop your skills on engineering software to a proficient standard (e.g. BridgeStation)
- Working with the engineering team to understand and complete regular activities, such as contract reporting, inspections, and administration
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess excellent relationship-building skills, are self-motivated, show initiative, and are resourceful. It is essential that you have a minimum of 48 UCAS points for the Level 4 entry requirements or a minimum of 96 UCAS points for the Level 6 entry requirements. The A-Levels need to include maths, and preferably a science (chemistry or physics).
