FM Conway is currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice to join our Major Projects Division. You will work in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge required to complete a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Operative qualification. You will work as part of the Major Projects team on various construction projects gaining knowledge and experience in a variety of areas of the industry. This is a full-time permanent position working within the boundaries of the M25 and reporting to Sevenoaks head office as and when required.
The duties of the role will include:
- Pursuing your studies to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours of a highway’s maintenance operative
- Being responsible for the successful completion of your apprenticeship and gaining work related qualifications including your End Point Assessment
- Working with the site team to deliver works required efficiently and to a safe standard
- Working in conjunction with site team to ensure that all tools and equipment are looked after, stored safely and securely and that any defects are reported to your manager
- Reporting any incidents, accidents or points of concern to your line manager or the site management
- Working as part of a team on site as required and take instructions from site management
What skills and experience do you need?
As a Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice, you will ideally have a grade 4 and above in both Maths and English GCSE. You will be reliable, hardworking and have a genuine interest in the construction industry. Good communication and the ability to follow instructions is also required for this role.
