Company Description

Are you ready to trade your job for a journey? Become a FlyMate! Passion, excitement & global collaboration are all core to what it means to be a FlyMate. At Flywire, we’re on a mission to deliver the world’s most important and complex payments. We use our Flywire Advantage - the combination of our next-gen payments platform, proprietary payment network and vertical specific software, to help our clients get paid, and help their customers pay with ease - no matter where they are in the world.

Who we are

Flywire is a global payments enablement and software company, founded a decade ago to solve high-stakes, high-value payments in education, using modern technology. Today, we’ve digitized payments for more than 3,300+ global clients across education, healthcare, travel & B2B, covering more than 240 countries and territories and supporting over 140 currencies. And, we’re just getting started!

With over 1,000+ global FlyMates, representing more than 40 nationalities, and in 14 offices world-wide, we’re looking for FlyMates to join the next stage of our journey as we continue to grow.

The Opportunity

As the Sales Manager for Ireland, you will be the primary owner of Flywire’s footprint in the Irish Higher Education market. This is a unique hybrid role that combines the drive of a new business hunter with the strategic depth of a relationship manager. You will be joining a high-performing UK & Ireland Sales team. With a portfolio that already includes approximately 30 HEIs and colleges in Ireland, your goal is to defend and deepen these relationships while aggressively hunting for the remaining net-new opportunities in the region. You will focus on driving "stickiness" and revenue growth by optimising payer adoption and leading the charge on deep technical integrations with key Student Record Systems. You will report directly to the Head of Sales, UK & Ireland, and work autonomously to own the Irish territory, serving as the strategic partner to Directors of Finance, International Admissions, and Student Services leaders across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business & Revenue Growth
  • Market Expansion: Proactively hunt and close net-new opportunities within the Irish Higher Education and college sectors on our way to achieve 100% market coverage.
  • Drive Platform Utilisation: Analyse client transaction data to identify gaps in capture rates; execute strategies to ensure Flywire is the primary/exclusive payment method for all international receivables.
  • Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic territory plan for Ireland to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, managing the full sales cycle from discovery to negotiation and close (Salesforce hygiene is a must).
  • RFP Leadership: Lead and manage tender responses and RFPs for the Irish market, collaborating with our bid teams to secure long-term contracts.
  • Relationship Management & Client Success
    • Integration Strategy: Champion the move from manual processes to fully integrated payment flows. You will drive the adoption of our integrations with key ERPs (e.g., Banner, SITS), ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and students.
    • Strategic Partnership: Serve as the trusted advisor for our Irish portfolio, conducting regular business reviews to align Flywire’s roadmap with client strategic goals.
    • Retention: Secure contract renewals and defend the client base against competitors by demonstrating continuous value, ROI, and payment security.
    • Advocacy: Act as the "Voice of the Irish Customer" internally, feeding back market-specific requirements and trends to our Product and Leadership teams.

    Qualifications

    Here’s What We’re Looking For

    • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Sales, Account Management, or Business Development in Ireland with a focus on selling to the Higher Education sector from EdTech, FinTech, and/or Payments, with C-Level connections across Finance, Admissions, IT and International at the Major Universities and Technological Universities in Ireland.
    • ERP/SIS Expertise: Familiarity with the Higher Education technology stack is essential. Specific experience with Tribal SITS or Ellucian Banner (and how payments integrate into them) will be a distinct advantage.
    • Consultative Seller: Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles, identifying "gaps" in current financial processes and positioning technical solutions to C-level stakeholders (Directors of Finance, Heads of Recruitment).
    • Hybrid Skillset: You are just as comfortable hunting a new deal as you are nurturing a 5-year relationship. You know when to push for a close and when to listen.
    • Autonomy: Ability to work remotely and manage your own schedule effectively while remaining a close collaborator with the wider UK & London-based team. You MUST Live in the UK.
    • Communication: Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly both virtually and in person.
