For over 20 years we have partnered with businesses, schools and major construction companies to guide and support their projects, tech strategies and day-to-day operations. In an average year we help 200 businesses use technology, we design sustainable ICT infrastructures for 100 new schools and commercial buildings, and we nurture the ICT resources and dreams of 33,000 school children. Our work in education allows us to give young people access to leading edge technology, which is fundamental to their education and their lives within the modern world.
We are looking for an IT Education Engineer to join our dynamic team at Nexus. In this role you will provide great customer service to our schools, whilst providing high quality IT tech support. You may have been or currently an IT technician on a school site or education setting and can therefore ‘talk school’ and be familiar with the apps that schools use. Your main responsibilities will be doing basic fixes, triaging tickets to the helpdesk and making sure that they are handled and prioritised accordingly. You will be responsible for supporting the IT services of the school, with a particular emphasis on customer service. You will spend 3 days per week onsite at one of our schools in Nottingham and remotely work or attend other schools when required for the other 2 days. These are based in the Nottingham & Midlands area, so willingness to travel is a requirement for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of problems and proactively resolve incidents or changes allocated to you by your line manager
- Maintain focus on the whole life of service delivery, from the first touch point to the closure of the incident
- Supporting the team to build a culture of continuous improvement
- Maintain a close view of incidents and their impacts on BAU activities
- Accurately document and record IT services to support our remote and local team
- Be responsive to requests for support whilst delivering against agreed SLA’s and objectives.
THE SUCCESSFUL PERSON
- Strong L2 experience
- Be proficient in Microsoft technologies
- Experience in a technical support or service delivery function with an IT environment, preferably supporting schools, academies and/or MATs
- Willing to learn any bespoke software systems of the school
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Must be able to follow instructions and document processes
- Must be able to work the following hours - 8am to 4.30pm - on site
