Job Description
About the Role
A high-growth fintech platform is seeking a sharp, commercially aware Credit Analyst or Underwriter to support its innovative data-driven lending model. The platform provides non-dilutive, revenue-based financing solutions to VC-backed and founder-led companies, empowering tech entrepreneurs to scale efficiently without giving up equity.
This Associate-level role is ideal for someone with strong analytical capabilities and a passion for the startup and venture ecosystem. You’ll play a critical role in underwriting facilities for some of Europe’s most exciting early-stage companies, applying both quantitative rigor and qualitative insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end credit underwriting of early-stage and venture-backed businesses, with a strong emphasis on SaaS and tech-enabled models.
- Assess company fundamentals using financial data, cash flow projections, cohort behavior, customer metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV), and platform-driven scoring tools.
- Liaise with founders, CFOs, and VC stakeholders to gather information and develop a nuanced understanding of company performance and risk profile.
- Collaborate with risk, legal, and product teams to structure financing facilities in line with underwriting standards and business needs.
- Monitor portfolio performance and assist in developing internal frameworks for ongoing credit monitoring and risk evaluation.
- Support process automation and data refinement to improve credit decisioning workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in credit underwriting, investment banking, venture debt, structured finance, or startup-focused financial analysis.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; familiarity with SaaS metrics and early-stage financial profiles is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of venture-backed business models and the funding landscape.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with cross-functional collaboration.
- Highly organized, intellectually curious, and able to communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
Why Apply?
- Exposure to high-quality deal flow in Europe’s startup ecosystem.
- Opportunity to help shape a new approach to startup funding with cutting-edge underwriting tools.
- Flat team structure, strong mentorship, and visibility with senior decision-makers.
- Dynamic, mission-driven work environment based in central London.
