Our client is a global institutional investment manager, with a dedicated real estate programme spanning Canada, the UK, Europe, U.S. and Asia. Its real-estate investment strategy encompasses industrial, office, retail and multi-unit residential assets, including both domestic direct investments and international joint-venture structures. The London office serves as the hub for Europe & Asia-Pacific real estate origination, execution and portfolio management. The team is expanding and seeks a high-calibre Associate to support the European real estate platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support origination and underwriting of real estate investments in the UK and wider Europe (industrial, office, retail, multi-unit residential).
- Assist in financial modelling, valuation, scenario analysis and investment structuring.
- Participate in due diligence across commercial, financial, legal, tax and ESG dimensions.
- Support preparation of investment committee memoranda and presentations.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting on portfolio assets; work with asset- and portfolio-management teams on performance, repositioning and value creation.
- Contribute to sector and market research — including trends in logistics/industrial, urban residential, office-to-residential conversion, and rental-housing models in Europe.
Candidate Requirements:
- Around 2–3 years of relevant experience (investment banking, real-estate private equity, real-estate debt, asset management) — ideally exposure to UK/European real-estate investment.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills (DCF, IRR, sensitivity analysis) and good valuation understanding.
- Familiarity or interest in major real-estate asset classes (industrial/distribution, office, multi-unit residential) and real-estate investment value chain.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good presentation ability, strong team orientation.
- Degree in finance, real estate, economics, engineering or related discipline; further certification (e.g., CFA, RICS) is a plus.
- UK-based or eligible to work in the UK; comfortable working in a global, institutional environment with cross-border exposure.
