Reporting directly to our Station Manager in Kirkwall, you'll play a key role in keeping our operation running safely and smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Checking passengers in for their flights and managing the boarding process
  • Ensuring security protocols are always followed
  • Answering passenger questions when flights are delayed or cancelled
  • Arranging alternative transport or accommodation when needed
  • Handling baggage and driving baggage vehicles

  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You can respond quickly to changing situations
  • You stay calm and professional under pressure
  • A full driving licence is essential (you’ll be driving airside)

Training and Experience

  • Previous customer service experience in a fast‑paced environment (aviation, hospitality, or retail) is highly desirable but not essential – we provide full training
  • Experience in ramp operations or ground handling is an advantage, but again, on‑the‑job training is provided
  • Basic IT skills are required for check‑in and boarding tasks
  • You must be able to pass security clearance checks, including background checks and references
  • Full training will be given for both customer service and ramp duties, including health and safety, manual handling, and operating machinery

Why Join Loganair at Kirkwall?

This is a unique role that gives you the chance to develop skills in both customer service and ground operations. You’ll be based at Kirkwall Airport, working for Scotland’s award‑winning regional airline, and you’ll be part of a team that genuinely cares about getting it right for every passenger.
