Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning and sanitising techniques.
  • Clean and sanitise food preparation surfaces, storage areas, and equipment following hygiene standards.
  • Loading/unloading dishwasher.
  • Cleaning entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day.
  • Empty waste bins and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Support the kitchen team by taking deliveries, ensuring ingredients and supplies are properly stocked and readily available.
  • Follow instructions from the kitchen staff to facilitate efficient workflow.
  • Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items.
  • Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Properly handle and dispose of food waste, adhering to waste management guidelines and procedures.
  • Comply with recycling and composting practices to minimise the environmental impact of kitchen operations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
  • Follow personal hygiene practices, including proper handwashing and wearing required protective gear.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
  • A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
