We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team as a contractor for an onsite project in Nuneaton. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Juniper Networks, including switches and firewalls, and demonstrate proficiency in network configuration and management. This role will involve both operational support and project work, requiring the ability to lead and execute tasks independently.
- Configure and maintain Juniper network infrastructure, including switches and firewalls, to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot network issues and implement effective solutions.
- Undertake project work related to network upgrades, migrations, and expansions as required.
- Perform regular network monitoring and maintenance tasks to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure compliance with best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in configuring and managing Juniper network equipment, including switches and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently and effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working on network projects, from planning and design through to implementation and testing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIS) would be advantageous but not essential.
- Flexibility to work onsite in Nuneaton for the duration of the contract period.
