Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of building works to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Review and assess building plans and specifications for compliance with building regulations.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients, architects, and contractors regarding building regulations and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, identifying any non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth progression of building projects.
- Stay updated on changes to building regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements:
- Must be a registered building inspector with relevant qualifications and experience in building control.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in inspections and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a local authority building control environment.
- Familiarity with 2D design software and building information modelling (BIM).
- Additional qualifications in construction management or related fields would be advantageous.
