We are looking for an experienced Analog Electronics Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of the high-speed, analog, and mixed-signal electronics that support our optical compute core. This role combines technical oversight with delivery execution, team leadership, and resource planning. You will partner with the Electronics Architect to ensure effective execution of the technical strategy—bridging technical development with program and people management. You'll contribute technically while also leading project planning, hiring, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination. You will work closely with ASIC, Optical, Firmware, and System Reliability teams to ensure that our analog electronics roadmap is aligned with our system performance goals and business milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a high-performing team: recruit, coach, and retain top analog talent through 1:1s, career development, and performance reviews.
- Drive execution using agile hardware development methods, balancing rapid iteration with reliability and manufacturability.
- Lead resource planning for PCB fabrication, assembly, and test fixture development.
- Report program status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide hands-on technical direction across the design and implementation of analog and mixed-signal subsystems, ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery.
- Work closely with the Electronics Architect, who owns the overarching technical strategy and system-level architecture, to translate design intent into actionable engineering plans.
- Guide the team through detailed tasks such as schematic reviews, layout best practices, simulation strategy, and bring-up support, ensuring engineering rigor and design quality.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Optical, Embedded Systems, and System Reliability teams to ensure smooth system integration and manufacturability, while advocating for sound analog design principles.
Skills & Experience:
- BEng/MEng or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related).
- 10+ years designing high-performance analog or mixed-signal hardware, 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one complex electronics product from concept to volume manufacture.
- Deep expertise in low-noise, wide-bandwidth analog front-ends (TIA, LNA, ADC/DAC interface).
- Deep expertise in high-speed (>10 Gb/s) differential signalling, impedance control, and signal-integrity mitigation (crosstalk, skew, reflections).
- Fluency with EDA and simulation tools (Altium / Cadence / Keysight ADS / Ansys or similar).
- Solid grounding in design for EMC/EMI, thermal management, and automated test.
- Excellent communication skills, able to dive deep with specialists and simplify for execs.
Compensation & Benefits:
- £162,000 - £198,000 annual salary, depending on experience, skills, and location.
- Competitive stock options, you're not just part of the journey, you will own a piece of it.
- Work from our HQ in King's Cross, right in the middle of London's buzzing AI scene.
- Live within 45 minutes of the office? Perfect.
- Live within 20 minutes? We'll add an extra location bonus to your salary.
- We offer visa sponsorship and full relocation support (UK and abroad), through a dedicated third-party provider who are on hand to make your move to London as seamless as possible.
- Full BUPA healthcare and dental cover, medical history disregarded.
- High-spec tech for everyone - M4 Macs as standard, M4 Pros for Engineers.
- Sony noise-cancelling headphones and ergonomic setups to keep you comfortable and focused.
- Personal company card to spend on tools that help you do your job - like ChatGPT Pro or anything else that boosts your workflow.
- Healthy, chef-cooked dinners in the office every night, with something for every diet and tastebud.
- Monthly off-site team socials.
- 25 days of paid holiday, plus all the UK public holidays.
