Role Summary:
The technical producer plays a key role in ensuring that all technical aspects of our productions run smoothly, from planning through execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in live streaming and video production, along with excellent client communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Design & Planning: Collaborate with the client and Flux production team to define technical requirements for each project, including equipment, software, and crew needs and work with Flux partners and suppliers to ensure this is achieved within the project budget.
- Collaboration:Work closely with directors, producers, and the creative team to align technical execution with creative vision.
- Technical Specification: Responsible for technical specification, ensuring all production materials and documentation are accurately maintained and accessible throughout the project lifecycle.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the testing, preparation and maintenance of all production equipment for projects, ensuring it is operational and up-to-date.
- On-site Management: Manage the technical aspects of live streaming events, including camera setups, audio mixing, lighting, and video switching
- Supplier and Partner Management: Identify and liaise with external vendors and freelancers as needed, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Reporting: Reporting into the Production Manager to ensure all technical deadlines are met throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor feeds for technical quality, addressing any issues in real-time to ensure a seamless viewer and client experience.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during production and live events.
- Training & Development: Keeping up to date with latest technologies and providing guidance and training to production staff on technical equipment and software.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical production role, preferably in live streaming or video production.
- Strong knowledge of video and audio production equipment, streaming technologies, and software.
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
- Familiarity with networking and broadcasting technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by project timelines.
Preferable Skills:
- Knowledge of broadcast systems such as Blackmagic Design, Ross Video, Sony & Panasonic
- Interest in cameras, vision mixing or directing
- Experience in client facing positions
Terms: Full-time permanent
Salary: Circa £50k per annum plus performance related pay scheme
Benefits: Healthcare and company phone
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 10:00-18:00
Occasional weekends as per production requirements (time off in lieu)
Location: Flux’s Hackney Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexible/WFH the rest of the week. Client locations as required.
