Role Purpose
Responsible for managing the team in London to ensure compliance and accurate processing of payrolls for the UK & Ireland. This team sits within the HR Operations function reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager. The role requires a combination of critical skills, solid leadership, capability and a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll tax compliance and system knowledge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us in a key role until the end of the year, contributing to an exciting phase of transformation and stability within the Payroll function.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate the team to ensure a positive working environment and team stability
- Review and define payroll processes in line with current policies and timetables to ensure consistency and accuracy across the payrolls
- Review and recommend checks, balances and reporting to ensure best in class governance
- Set-up and monitor team KPIs
- Build a strong reputation for the payroll team within the HR Ops and wider business
- Build and manage relationships with internal teams e.g. finance, banking, tax and reward
- Manage HMRC or Irish Revenue queries in a timely manner
- Manage more complex payroll requirements e.g. shadow payrolls, executive payrolls, share plan exercise tax processing
- Be prepared to manage payrolls directly to cover busy periods and holidays
- Be knowledgeable about existing and new legislation and ensure all processes adhere to requirements. Advise management on required actions
- Manage 3rd party supplier relationships with payroll provider, building a positive relationship and ensuring that the providers meet our requirements at all times
- Manage Year end and other statutory returns
- Have in depth knowledge of payroll system and build, background and calculation set-up
- Ensure all upgrades to payroll system are performed and updated within time frame
- Ensure all new pay elements are implemented and tested
- Conduct integrity checks on system and participate in projects to develop processes identifying improvements and implementing changes
- Work closely with team members to cross training
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role, as required by the Senior Payroll Manager

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with ResourceLink payroll system software an advantage
- Detailed knowledge of UK legislation, ROI legislation is desirable
