We're looking for a Brand Designer to help bring one of those brands to life across every surface it touches. You'll work within a close-knit Brand Design team, each designer dedicated to a single brand. Day to day, you'll be producing high-quality visual work across product, campaigns, motion, and social, always making sure the brand shows up consistently, distinctly, and with real craft behind it.

This is a role for someone who takes craft seriously, wants to understand brand at a deeper level, and is ready to grow their skills across both digital and marketing contexts.

  • Brand Differentiation & Identity
    • Define and continuously evolve clear visual territories for each brand, making them immediately recognisable and meaningfully distinct from one another.
    • Protect each brand's personality, tone, and positioning across every output.
    • Actively identify and prevent brand convergence across products and touchpoints.
    • Turn brand strategy into tangible, differentiated design direction.
  • Brand Expression in Product
    • Define the principles and guardrails for how each brand identity translates into digital UI and in-app experience.
    • Create guidelines that Product Designers can act on, practical, opinionated, and rooted in each brand's visual DNA.
    • Partner with Product Design to embed brand effectively into interfaces without compromising usability.
  • Cross-Team Alignment
    • Act as the bridge between Brand, Commercial, Studio, and Product, ensuring brand expression is joined up across all functions.
    • Align with Content Designers so visual language and tone of voice work as one.
  • Visual Systems & Scalability
    • Partner with Design Systems teams to encode brand expression into scalable, reusable components.
    • Define the right balance between shared foundations and brand-specific expression.
    • Ensure brand updates can roll out efficiently and consistently across all platforms.
  • Execution & Quality
    • Oversee and contribute to high-impact visual work spanning product, campaigns, and brand communications.
    • Hold a high bar for craft, consistency, and detail and bring others up to it through review and critique.
    • Be the quality filter for brand alignment across all team outputs.

How you'll do it:

  • A portfolio demonstrating brand systems across multiple touchpoints, digital, campaigns, motion, and beyond.
  • A strong attention to detail in typography, layout, colour, and visual composition.
  • Some experience working cross-functionally with Brand, Marketing/Commercial, and Studio teams.
  • Proficiency in Figma and collaborative design tools.
  • Open to feedback and collaborative by nature.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to brand work in both product and campaign contexts.
  • Background in online gaming, sports betting, or entertainment.
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered design tools.
  • Interest in or experience with motion design or animation.
  • Familiarity with design systems or component-based thinking.

What We Value:

  • Curiosity about brand, about the industry, about how design shapes perception.
  • A team player who shares work early and takes feedback well.
  • Attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • A belief that strong brands are both consistent and unmistakably distinct.
  • Enthusiasm for working across disciplines and learning from those around you.

What's in it for you:

  • Flexible ways of working – home or office, it's your choice!
  • £1,000 learning fund.
  • Twice-yearly bonus (with part of it guaranteed!).
  • Pension contribution scheme.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Access to thousands of Udemy courses.
  • Invest via the Company Sharesave Scheme.
  • 16 hours paid volunteering time per year.
  • Unlimited holiday.

How to prepare for a job interview at Flutter UK&I

Showcase Your Portfolio like a Pro

Your portfolio is your calling card, so make sure it’s not just pretty but also tells a story. Arrange your best UX/UI design projects in a way that highlights your thought process, problem-solving skills, and the impact of your work. Talk about the challenges you faced and how you tackled them—freelancers need to show they can handle real-world problems.

Use Design Tools Effectively

Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD is crucial in our field. Be ready to discuss your experience with these tools in real scenarios. They might ask specific technical questions about how you’d approach a design problem or your workflow, so brush up on those details and think of examples from your previous freelance projects.

Prepare for Client-Centric Questions

As a freelancer, you'll be client-facing, so expect questions about handling client feedback and managing expectations. Prepare examples of how you've dealt with difficult situations or miscommunications in previous projects. Your ability to communicate effectively with clients is a major selling point, and it’s worth stressing how well you can read and meet their needs.

Demonstrate Flexibility and Self-Management

Freelance work requires a lot of self-discipline and time management. Be prepared to discuss how you organise your time, juggle multiple clients, and prioritise tasks. Sharing how you've successfully managed deadlines and client relationships in the past can really set you apart from the competition and show that you're more than just a designer—you're a complete package.
