This position is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. As a Senior Commercial Manager within the Betfair Commercial team, you will be a key strategic driver of commercial performance for Football. You will be accountable for setting and delivering the commercial direction, working across a complex stakeholder landscape to maximise the customer and business value from our products and propositions. This role requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, analytical thinking, leadership, and stakeholder influence.
You will work cross‑functionally with teams including Finance, Operations, Performance, Trading, CVM, Marketing, Content & Media, as well as a broad network of colleagues across other Flutter brands.
How You Will Do ItReporting to the Head of Sports, you will bring a proven track record in delivering commercial growth, ideally within a Sports Betting or related environment. You’ll be an effective leader, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and aligning cross‑functional teams around a clear plan.
Key Responsibilities- Own the P&L for Football, leading day‑to‑day and strategic performance analysis to drive commercial outcomes.
- Develop and lead best‑in‑class commercial strategies and execution plans for the Premier League Season and key events/campaigns (e.g. World Cup and Start of Season), ensuring delivery of performance targets.
- Act as a thought leader on Football propositions, creating and evolving promotions that exceed customer expectations and keep Betfair ahead of the market.
- Lead on measurement and post‑campaign analysis, driving learnings across Betfair and UKI brands to continually raise the bar on ROI and performance.
- Translate complex customer and behavioural data into actionable insights that improve engagement, retention, and commercial performance.
- Define and champion the customer proposition across Football, aligning strategy to market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration across Commercial, Marketing, Brand, CRM, Creative, CVM, Ops, and Performance to ensure unified and effective go‑to‑market execution.
- Oversee and optimise a significant free bet budget, balancing generosity with commercial return and strategic objectives.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team, providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability to drive personal and business success.
- Coordinate the collation and alignment of commercial and marketing plans across Football, ensuring integrated delivery across departments.
- Act as a senior voice in the Commercial team, supporting broader strategic discussions, and challenging plans to ensure customer‑first, performance‑led thinking.
- Maintain a strong awareness of the betting and broader sports landscape, bringing external perspective and best practices to internal planning.
- Balance long‑term strategic thinking with a strong bias for action and delivery, managing multiple high‑impact projects and deadlines in parallel.
