Your team
We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead our UKI Sports Commercial BI team, forming part of the wider UKI Business Intelligence department. Managing a team of 2 specialist analysts, this role will be responsible for developing a multi-brand view of our sport commercial performance, identifying consistent themes and questions across-brand, then consolidating and shaping elevated sports insights. These insights will help form and advance our understanding of our customers and products across a market leading portfolio of brands including Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Betfair, PokerStars and tombola.
As part of the UKI BI Commercial team, you will own the creation of intelligence-led approaches to UKI Commercial insight, providing insight on our sports business that builds our understanding and drives decision making, as well as advancing our reporting and measurement capabilities for our significant customer generosity budget. You will work with the senior internal partners across the division and with key partners within our brands to agree the businesses priorities and workstreams for Commercial BI, driving collaboration across the brands to ensure standards and processes are aligned.
What you’ll do
- Cross-brand commercial insights: Undertake cross-UKI analysis to answer strategic, multi-brand commercial questions.
- UKI-wide commercial performance: Monitor day-to-day UKI-wide commercial performance, highlighting opportunities and risks.
- Accountable to the LT: Partner with the UKI LT, UKI Finance & UKI Strategy to answer commercial queries originating from the UKI LT. Deliver priority insight for UKI Sport, delivering highly complex analysis to LT level internal partners on a regular basis including Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews with the UKI extended LT.
- Own UKI-level reporting for sport: Develop best-in-class self-serve reporting that allows partners to assess commercial metrics and trends in a multi-brand format, ensuring we have accurate, comparable views of performance between brands.
- Complex analysis: Support brand analysts with specialist, more advanced analytical capabilities. Be a point of escalation when a more complex analytical approach is required.
- Cultivate an informal ‘commercial analytics’ community: Coordinate regular collaboration and sharing sessions with the HoDs of Performance and their teams within the UKI Sports brands, identifying consistent themes across insights, elevating our understanding of the sports customer to a cross-brand level.
- Establish standard methodologies and common processes: working alongside the UKI Commercial Insights team and colleagues in Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power, Betfair and tombola to ensure our insight, processes and methodologies are aligned and easily comparable across the division through newly established communities of practice.
- Deliver UKI BI strategic ambitions: take a lead role in delivering our UKI BI Strategy working with the Head of Commercial BI.
- People leader: Build a culture within your team that champions development and learning, ensuring analysts within your area are empowered to advance our capabilities and be innovative in their approach to working practices, methodologies, outputs and tooling.
How you’ll do it
- Strong technical experience in delivering analytics solutions (ideally using Looker and SQL).
- Skilled at condensing analysis into actionable insights to inform business decisions within the commercial teams and influence business performance.
- Finding opportunities to drive improvements in our existing BI and analytical practices and driving positive change that advances our capabilities and outputs.
- Experience leading a team through strong communication skills and be able to inspire, empathise and work for your team.
- Be highly collaborative and influential, leading multi-functional working groups to deliver outcomes that require input from people outside of your direct remit.
- Ability to present confidently and effectively to very senior partners, including the UKI Leadership Team.
- Thrive under pressure and understand the sometimes-urgent business needs with a measured and strategic approach.
- You will be self-motivated, strategic problem solver who is able to take a lead and drive action and change where required, both within BI and across the business.
