Overview

Your Team

Reporting into the Paddy Power Retail Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for business partnering across the various teams with regular exposure to the leadership team. The role is instrumental in improving profit, revenue forecasting, cost control and supporting the business in finding opportunities to drive growth. The UK&I division contributes roughly half the revenue and profits of the Group bringing together household names Sky Betting and Gaming, Tombola, Paddy Power and Betfair. The UK&I division is itself the size of a FTSE 50-100 business. The commercial finance team drive financial strategy, planning, performance, commercial insight and reporting for Paddy Power, Retail. Monthly travel to the Dublin office would be expected.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for business partnering the Commercial and Operational teams as well as wider UKI and safer gambling teams.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance in business partnering the PP Retail Leadership team of Directors.
  • Lead on the process of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for PP Retail ensuring internal partners are fully engaged in the process.
  • Contribute to the delivery and analysis/insight of the Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to the UKI CEO and CFO.
  • Support in the delivery of the Monthly Updates and develop month end and regular finance reporting views.
  • Liaising with GFC/FBI to ensure the accuracy of tracking and month end close numbers.
  • A key focus is on revenue performance, but the role also covers identification and delivery of cost efficiency: finding opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Provide finance support on key commercial negotiations for significant third-party deals.
  • Significant contribution to PP Retail and wider UKI projects when required.
  • Play a key role in ensuring we continually improve the level of financial support provided to the business.

How You'll Do It

  • Ideally, you'll have experience within fast paced online, digital customer focused businesses.
  • Highly numerate with strong financial knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Experience of business partnering and commercial competence, able to communicate financial performance to senior customers, simplify complex information and influence decision making.
  • Leadership, this role may have direct reports so mentoring and developing those colleagues will drive the success of the role and wider PP retail finance team.
  • Awareness of the wider gambling industry, PP's competitors and macro circumstances that can have an impact on trading activity.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting and evidence of building strong relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Passionate to develop self and others to support career progression.
  • Looks for better ways of doing things, and proactively takes ownership to see things through.
  • Hardworking and able to approach work with a sense of fun.
  • There may be some requirement for travel.
  • Qualified accountant with 5+ years of PQE and a varied experience within fast paced online, digital customer focused businesses.
