The Web Analytics Tagging Specialist supports Product teams and BI Analysts by helping define and document web analytics tracking for Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This role focuses on translating product designs into clear tagging requirements for buttons, links, and other user interactions, ensuring that collected data can be reliably used in dashboards and reports. This is a learning-focused role with guidance from senior analytics team members.
What you’ll do:
- Review product designs, wireframes, and user flows to identify user interactions that should be tracked.
- Assist in creating analytics tagging documentation for buttons, navigation links, and other clickable elements.
- Work with BI Analysts to understand reporting needs and ensure tagging supports dashboard requirements.
- Follow established GA4 naming conventions and analytics standards when defining events and parameters.
- Support testing and validation of implemented tags to confirm data is being captured correctly.
- Help maintain tagging documentation and contribute to analytics best practices over time.
- Ask questions and seek clarification to ensure accurate tracking requirements.
How you’ll do it:
- Basic understanding of web analytics concepts (events, user interactions, metrics).
- Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 or a strong interest in learning GA4.
- Ability to read and understand product designs or wireframes.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn structured documentation practices.
- Good communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to Google Tag Manager or similar tagging tools.
- Introductory experience with dashboards or reporting tools.
- Coursework, internships, or projects related to analytics, data, or digital products.
