The Commercial Performance team sits within our Commercial function and plays a key role in understanding and improving tombola’s performance across our core propositions and marketing activity. We focus on tracking performance, uncovering the “why” behind trends, and turning analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that improve decision‑making and outcomes. Working closely with Commercial, BI, Finance, CRM and Acquisition teams, we ensure performance reporting is accurate, consistent and genuinely useful.
As a Senior Commercial Analyst, you’ll support the team by delivering reporting, analysis and insight that helps stakeholders understand what’s happening across the business — and what to do next. You’ll build strong knowledge of tombola’s products, customers and key commercial metrics, using data to identify opportunities, efficiencies and areas to optimise across the customer journey. You’ll also have exposure to senior stakeholders through regular performance reporting and contribute to insights that shape commercial priorities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Track and interpret commercial performance, identifying trends, drivers and opportunities.
- Analyse customer behaviour to understand impacts on revenue, retention and engagement.
- Improve stakeholder understanding of campaign effectiveness (e.g. Acquisition and Reactivation) and promotional impact.
- Support core business rhythms including weekly trading/performance updates and monthly reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, clear and consistent.
- Work with stakeholders to shape analysis requests — clarifying requirements, prioritising work and managing expectations.
- Build and iterate SQL queries (with support where needed) to extract, validate and troubleshoot data.
- Contribute to process improvement, including better templates, increased automation with BI, and improved self‑serve reporting where possible.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a business, analytics or numerical discipline, with a curious, commercial mindset.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, basic modelling and analysis).
- Ability to communicate insights clearly and explain the “so what” to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- SQL proficiency is an advantage (or strong willingness to learn quickly).
- High attention to detail, strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
