Overview

Your Team

Reporting into the Head of Generosity Intelligence, the Principal Advanced Analytics Lead will lead modelling and advanced analytics efforts to optimise the return on investment of generosity spend across Flutter UKI brands (Paddy Power, Sky, and Betfair) for Sportsbook and Gaming. This person will develop analytical frameworks to measure generosity effectiveness, identify optimisation opportunities, and drive improvements in experimentation methodologies.

This role will have a direct impact on the allocation of generosity spend across customer segments, ensuring that generosity strategies are as efficient and effective as possible. You will collaborate closely with Data Science teams to develop new models that target generosity more accurately and support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to calculate the return on investment (ROI) of generosity initiatives across the business.
  • Improve experimentation capabilities for Generosity across the business. Drive improvements in A/B testing, matched pairs analysis, and other experimental frameworks, ensuring they accurately gather generosity impacts and optimise decision-making.
  • Collaborative Model Building: Partner closely with other Data Science teams to build new productionised models, such as predictive models for customer behaviour, segmentation models, and causal inference tools that better inform generosity allocation strategies.
  • Data-Driven Commercial Recommendations: Synthesise experiment results into clear, actionable insights that inform business decisions. Present findings to senior internal partners and work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with commercial goals.
  • Actively contribute to the development of junior team members through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and technical guidance.

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Deep knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning, and causal inference techniques.
  • Confirmed experience in refining and driving experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and matched pairs analysis.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Commercial and Data Science teams to develop and implement new models that align with business goals.
  • Strong commercial/customer competence with an ability to translate complex concepts into practical business strategies, particularly in optimising generosity allocation for return on investment maximisation.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical internal partners, communicating data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Experience mentoring junior data analysts and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Min 5 years analytic experience.

What’s in it for you

  • Flexible ways of working – home or office, it’s your choice!
  • £1,000 learning fund
  • Unlimited holiday
  • Twice-yearly bonus (with part of it guaranteed!)
  • Pension contribution scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Access to thousands of Udemy courses
  • Invest via the Company Sharesave Scheme
