What You’ll Do
- Work with Product, Technology, Data Science and Racing Analytics to define and deliver business impacting projects.
- Design, Develop, Test and Launch solutions and experiments.
- Mentor and guide peers via code reviews, dev sessions and pair-programming.
- Provide guidance with process design.
- Estimate the effort required for the project implementation.
- Map end-to-end business processes as part of solutions.
- Update and maintain Developer Standards around best practices with emerging technologies.
- Engage with partnering teams to define the best approach to implementation.
- Seek to improve, optimise and evolve current working practices to drive efficiency and quality.
- Keep on top of emerging technologies and identify areas of opportunity.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in developing LLM-based applications leveraging them to tackle business problems.
- Experience across different programming languages including Python, C#, Java.
- Familiarity with building applications using ML.
- Be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Work cooperatively and partner collaboratively with others across the organisation to get work done.
- Ability to improve, optimise and evolve current working practices to drive efficiency and quality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Curiosity & passion in technology, adaptability to new technologies and staying up to date with available options.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with deadlines.
- A passion for sports and experience of working with sports data.
- Operational experience and knowledge are an advantage.
- Fluency in English.
What Would Set You Apart
- A deep level of horse racing knowledge: experience with horse racing data and knowledge of the nuances of the sport, including familiarity with Timeform and Sporting Life.
- Technology and/or consulting background: ideally previous experience in consulting and technology environments that has helped drive transformation.
- Technical expertise: background and knowledge of APIs, AI, NLP and experience with GitHub.
- Understanding of various architectural frameworks and design patterns.
