About the role
We’re looking for an External Research & Insights Manager to join our Customer Safety and Strategy team, part of Flutter UK & Ireland! The External Research & Insights Manager will play a key part in helping our teams across the business use customer insights and research to drive the strategy and vision to make every moment safe for our customers and to lead the industry in safety and trust. Engaging with a cross‑functional group of people, you’ll need to keep abreast of industry developments and academic research. You’ll use these to compare against Flutter’s position and cascade your findings to help shape strategy and influence a varied group of stakeholders, including senior leaders across the business and the wider Flutter group. Customer safety is a key part of the Flutter strategy. We have decided to turn a complex challenge into an opportunity: we want Flutter UKI to provide the safest gambling experience for all our customers, and to be known as leading the industry in customer safety and trust. We believe this will attract customers to us and reduce our regulatory risk. Moreover, we believe it to be the right thing to do for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Engage with cross‑functional stakeholders, including senior leaders across the business and the wider Flutter group, to define and continually develop our customer safety approach.
- Regularly review all externally published research, industry publications and news.
- Create summaries and positions on relevant pieces and cascade findings internally and to colleagues within the Flutter Group.
- Co‑ordinate external responses to published research using internal information and data.
- Extract data from internal and external reporting databases for analytical purposes.
- Compare our data and customer behaviour to that in published reports, understand what that means for the business and use the information to drive strategy.
- Co‑ordinate datasets for external research.
- Maintain a research catalogue and calendar of upcoming publications.
- Identify new research partners and build relationships with external experts.
- Attend industry conferences and share learnings.
- Use information and insights to influence our strategic direction.
- Critically assess external research, draw out key narratives and distil information into easily digestible formats for wider stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency in analytics and data manipulation tools; the key ones we use are SQL and Excel.
- Strong PowerPoint skills to create compelling visuals to assist data storytelling.
- A proven track record of stakeholder management and the ability to work with people across all departments and teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence to communicate internally within our Flutter UKI brands, at Group level and in key external forums.
- Work in a team that lives and breathes customer safety, experts in understanding who our customers are and how we can best support them to play positively, providing support across the Customer Safety Tribe and wider business stakeholders, including global brands.

- Twice‑yearly bonus (with part of it guaranteed!)
- Pension contribution scheme
- Private healthcare
