The Flutter tax team reports directly into the group’s CFO and is a high-profile tax function within a fast-moving and rapidly growing business. The Gaming Tax team is a commercially focussed team that manages all revenue-based taxes within the highly regulated betting and gaming industry e.g., gambling taxes, VAT, DSTs. These taxes can have a critical impact on the business model and provide interesting and exciting challenges.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic Gaming Tax team. This role is crucial in guaranteeing that our betting and gaming tax compliance requirements across more than 10 jurisdictions are achieved flawlessly. Reporting to a Manager within the team, you will contribute significantly to upholding our outstanding standards and advancing our ambitious goals.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare monthly betting and gaming tax calculations by employing automated systems like Alteryx.
- Liaise with accountants and advisors across international jurisdictions to ensure filing and payment obligations are strictly met on time.
- Develop a detailed knowledge of our products and promotions to optimize the amount of tax payable across our licenses.
- Apply your understanding of tax regulations to assist in managing risks, including legislative changes.
- Assist in completing tax audits and addressing ad-hoc queries from tax authorities.
- Foster relationships across commercial and product teams to ensure seamless partnerships within the business.
- Collaborate with Finance to manage queries arising from both statutory and internal audits.
- Support the transition of our brands onto new technology platforms, ensuring compliance obligations are met successfully.
How You’ll Do It
- You must hold a minimum qualification of AAT/ATT or an equivalent in accounting or tax.
- Proven experience in tax compliance across multiple international jurisdictions is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is critical; however, experience with automation tools is not required.
- While prior experience in the gambling industry is not necessary, an interest in our products could be advantageous as training will be provided on the job.
- You should be a great teammate with outstanding communication skills, able to engage effectively across various channels and audiences.
- Possess self-motivation and excellent organization and project management skills.
- You should be curious and open to asking questions, taking personal responsibility for your learning and growth.
