Our facility operations and maintenance team is looking for a CAD Designer to join us in support of a classified facility. The selected applicant will be a member of an established team of office space planners and drafters onsite, and will update drawings, coordinate office moves, advise on equipment placement, support work permit processes, and work closely with power and cooling engineers to allocate space. This is a permanent position working a Monday through Friday dayshift.
Requirements
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Employment is subject to the ability to obtain and maintain a DV – STRAP level security clearance.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport or be willing to apply for a passport as a condition of employment.
- Maintain the as-built building CAD drawings and update associated data management systems.
- Support design reviews for new construction and renovation projects.
- Coordinate works clearance meetings.
- Collate processes and procedures for works clearance and crane permits.
- Amend site drawings to depict work areas for dig permits and crane permits.
- Assist with site surveys related to dig permits.
- Survey building occupancy and office space utilization.
- Create and distribute reports and PowerPoint slide presentations.
- Distribute meeting notices and Weekly Activity Reports.
- Ad hoc assistance to the Space Planning Architecture team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with AutoCAD 2016 or a later version.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar.
- Experience with working projects with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with architectural drawings and plans.
- Ability to learn and apply US and UK construction codes.
- Ability to survey and document interior space in both metric and imperial units.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers.
- Ability to perform risk assessments with a high level of health & safety awareness.
- Flexible team player with an ability to operate with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate experience of working to high quality standards.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good attention to detail.
To Be Considered Candidates
- Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) enhanced DV security clearance. This requires U.K. citizenship.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.K.
