The Norwich Lab Manager will be responsible for managing the repair and calibration services for electrical and temperature equipment. This role involves leading a team of technicians and Lab Admin, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of repair and calibration technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Service Management: Oversee the repair and calibration processes, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery to meet customer expectations.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure all services meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to the team, troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring effective problem resolution.
  • Employee Engagement: Enhance employee engagement by fostering open communication and recognizing contributions to drive motivation and retention. Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions to understand and address employee needs & recognize achievements.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Compliance: Ensure all repair and calibration activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., ISO17025).
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the management of tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory to support repair and calibration activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures.
  • Safety: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the repair and calibration of electrical equipment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, calibration standards, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and FBS tools application (5S, VSM, Standard Work, Problem Solving).
  • Drive waste reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost productivity initiatives using data-driven approaches.
  • Implement sustainable improvements through standardization and visual management.
  • Proficiency in using service management software and tools.
