Manages the implementation and training process of the ISO 17025 Quality Assurance System for Norwich Laboratory. Provides specialized procurement and operations not covered by other job families for the Metrology Group. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the quality assurance system, technical and quality training and specialized administrative process/systems while ensuring the quality and cost objectives are met. Serves as the quality liaison between the laboratories and the client and laboratories and suppliers during the calibration process to ensure all technical and quality requirements can be met. This job is 100% on-site in Norwich.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as ISO 17025 quality manager for the Norwich site.
- Responsible for releasing the specifics to the implementation of quality system documents, standards, methods, training and procedures to comply with ISO 17025 and corporate policies.
- Develops and continuously improves standard work processes supporting quality, training and procurement responsibilities for the Norwich Laboratory.
- Responsible for maintaining the training program for all associates involved in calibration, whether service or manufacturing operations, to include releasing training documentation, providing the training and notifying and distributing the training to the Lab Managers and their associates.
- Responsible for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and service representatives to address calibration specific issues during technical contract reviews.
- May provide quality and technical responses to adjustments on a PO, Standard Work Order or Sales Order request.
- Maintain purchasing records, contracts, and source lists for all products and services.
- Produce detailed analyses, reports, documents, presentations and recommendations.
Working Conditions And Basic Requirements
- On-site Office environment, frequent deadlines, minimal travel.
- Intimate knowledge of MS products, especially Excel. SharePoint experience is a plus.
- Experience working with an ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory highly preferred.
- 2 + years of calibration and metrology experience and 2+ years of operations or customer service experience highly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training/experience.
- Ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with process improvements, metrics and working with both internal and external customers with ease.
- Excellent work ethic.
- A desire to grow and advance career.
