The Electronics Calibration & Repair Technician performs a wide variety of calibration tasks in order to process shipments of instruments to customers in line with provided product specifications. This role will also be required to partake in diagnosis/repair of customer equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To calibrate a wide variety of Fluke Process Instruments equipment to ensure adherence to defined specifications and quality standards.
  • To ensure that customer units returned for calibration are maintained in an “as found” state and tracked through the Fluke System.
  • As required, diagnose faults with customers products and replace components to restore prime operating conditions.
  • Manages the workflow on assigned calibration system(s) to ensure throughput is maximized and customer lead time requirements are met.
  • Responsible to adherence to defined processes in assigned work area, including but not limited to; Standard Work Instructions, 5S Standards, Safe Systems of Work or Engineering Drawings.
  • As appropriate, to train fellow Operatives/Technicians on defined processes as requested by the relevant Supervisor.
  • To enter relevant data onto any registers requested by the Service Supervisor/required by Fluke Quality policies.
  • Suggest and/or implement process/product improvements using the FBS (Fortive Business System) toolset in order to improve operating KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
  • As required, partake in the creation, review and implementation of new procedures/work instructions, including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures.
  • As required and communicated by the Service Supervisor, prepare calibration certificates for review/approval from the designated approver.

Additional Information

A portion of time may be spent attending required meetings, Trainings, 1:1 reviews, and Performance Appraisal reviews as communicated by the Production Team Leader. You are expected to take an active role in these events. The business may require you to actively participate in continuous improvement events (Kaizens) or other applicable events which will be communicated to you from time to time. The business may require you to actively participate in Daily Management meetings to report out achieved results and manage business expectations.

Position Scope

Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.

Interaction

Interaction normally involves exchange/movement of Fluke product however may include feedback/requests for technical support from Technicians. Interacts daily with the Service Supervisor as required to define priorities and elevate issues as required for the proper performance of the role. Interacts as required with other members of the Fluke Management team, however primary management contact will remain with the immediate Supervisor. Interacts with Metrology/Engineering as required for assistance/guidance in the calibration lab to ensure product is produced to the required specification.

Equipment Maintenance

A portion of time may be spent on maintenance/calibration/measuring of manufacturing equipment as defined by the Production Team Leader, this may include but is not limited to; EHV High Voltage (>40kV testers), Testing Jigs/equipment and ESD furnishings, subject to appropriate training & authorizations.
