The average day of a Production Team Leader involves managing the day-to-day production priorities of the assigned manufacturing area while also balancing strategic priorities such as Quality System Basics, Lean Manufacturing implementation, and Performance Management of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all processes within the assigned area(s), contribute to developing and implementing new processes, and continually improve existing processes.
- Train and facilitate training of team members to meet defined standard processes and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage team performance, including performance appraisals, monthly reviews, disciplinary investigations, and hearings.
- Support team development through training, coaching, mentoring, and cross-training initiatives.
- Recommend career progression and salary adjustments for team members.
- Maintain proper records and reports for the team and monitor results.
- Use the Daily Management process to oversee team performance, drive improvements, and prioritize activities.
- Follow the Production Team Leader Daily Standard Work.
Experience:
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience motivating teams and driving continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for Electrical, Visual, Temperature, and Pressure test equipment.
Personal Skills:
- Proficiency in PC literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on completing tasks.
