Role Overview

The Senior HR Advisor plays a key role in supporting the delivery of effective HR services across the organisation. This position is responsible for providing expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR policy implementation. Acting as a trusted partner to managers, the Senior HR Advisor ensures HR practices are aligned with business goals while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Role Responsibilities

  • General HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records in PeopleHR, manage the shared HR inbox, action employment offer letters, contracts, and benefit forms, upload documents to People HR and SharePoint, support audit preparation.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Prepare offer letters, contracts, welcome packs, conduct background/reference checks, maintain the New Starter Log and Leavers Checklist, process leaver documentation, monitor probation periods.
  • Data & Systems Management: Ensure timely updates to PeopleHR, support payroll accuracy, track sickness and absences, administer Employee benefits, generate and analyse HR metrics.
  • Employee Relations & Support: Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, assist with employee relations cases, support line managers with promotions and pay rises.
  • Office Management: Liaise with the Office Management team, manage weekly food shop and stationery replenishment, facilitate Health & Safety tasks.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies, support internal HR training programmes, participate in HR-related projects.

Role Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage employee relations cases with sensitivity
  • Proven experience in coaching managers and supporting change
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in HR systems and reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • CIPD Qualification or working towards it (desirable)
