Salary Range: £13.50 - £16.80 per hour (with additional earning available with overtime)

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm, 7:30am – 2:00pm Early Finish Friday (40 Hours)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our experienced and dedicated engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing company products to exacting standards and quality specifications as defined by technical drawings and written instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute engineering duties including sub-assembly production fitting and final assembly operations
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies
  • Produce and build fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity, including:
    • Marking out and cutting materials
    • Folding and pipe bending
    • Weld joint preparation
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic system installation
    • General production build assemblies
  • Verify complete assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and quality standards
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain responsibility for personal safety and the safety of colleagues
  • Comply with all safety rules and supervisor instructions

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Solid engineering background with relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in interpreting manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings, and sub-assembly drawings
  • Competent use of hand and power tools for assembling large and small fabricated components
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)

Desirable:

  • Experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting
  • Background in aviation, military, marine, or similar industries
  • Knowledge of basic electrical assembly and ability to read electrical circuit drawings

  • Hourly rate: £13.50 - £16.80 (dependent on experience)
