We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner (EMEA) to join us on a fixed-term contract through September 1, 2026. Reporting to our Australia-based VP of People & Culture, you will be the "boots on the ground" lead for our UK and French teams. This is a truly hybrid role, work remotely from the UK, with the opportunity to spend time with our team in the Paris office. You’ll be a strategic partner to our EMEA leaders, acting as a coach, culture carrier, and change agent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to EMEA leaders, aligning people priorities with business goals and providing thought leadership on organisational design.
  • Regional Compliance & Alignment: Harmonise our People & Culture practices across EMEA to ensure equity and compliance, acting as the bridge that connects our global strategy with local execution while maintaining our unique global culture.
  • The Employee Lifecycle: Lead key programs including performance calibrations, compensation reviews, talent development, and engagement focus groups.
  • Regional Point of Contact: Support the Payroll Manager on escalated EMEA matters and lead internal communications to keep our regional teams connected and motivated.
  • DEIB Champion: Drive inclusion efforts and events, ensuring Fluent remains a diverse and equitable place to work.

Who You Are

  • The EMEA Expert: You have a solid grasp of UK and French labour laws and understand the nuances of managing teams across different European jurisdictions.
  • A Relationship Builder: You thrive in a "remote but connected" environment and can build deep trust with leaders across different time zones.
  • Data-Informed: You use data to tell a story and guide your decisions, whether it’s regarding compensation, retention, or engagement.
  • Agile & Proactive: You don’t wait for instructions. You see a gap and fill it, moving easily between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Full proficiency in English and ideally in French.
  • Strong knowledge of United Kingdom and French labour law.
  • Experience and proven results in a Business Partner role, creating measurable impact on a major business unit in a high-growth technology company across EMEA.
  • 8+ years experience preferably supporting higher level leaders.
  • Experience dealing directly with Work Councils and Performance Management processes.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualifications (UK candidates).
  • Excited and passionate about making an impact and tackling business challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills moving regularly between the tactical and strategic priorities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and balance collaboration and communication with multiple stakeholders across various departments and functions.
  • Ability to act with integrity and ethics in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make timely, effective, people-first decisions.

Flexibility: Work on your terms, when and where it suits you, while embodying our company culture. Flexible and supportive leave policies: Including generous paid parental leave and paid leave for your birthday so you can celebrate you.

Culture is key: We have a great team and enjoy regular social events to foster a collaborative, supportive and fun work environment.
