Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering execution of EPC turnkey projects across EMEA, delivering safe, on-time, on-budget outcomes aligned with contractual and quality requirements. You will coordinate internal and external engineering teams, drive value engineering, and uphold Fluence’s safety and ISO 9001 standards while supporting procurement and stakeholder management. The role offers impact across diverse energy projects, including high-voltage systems, PV, and BESS, with travel across the region.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate external engineering firms, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements and regional/regulatory constraints.
- Lead design review meetings and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and Fluence quality processes.
- Drive value engineering to improve design, constructability, efficiency, and outcomes.
- Support procurement by developing specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
- Review designs for compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Take full technical responsibility for EPC turnkey projects, including HV systems.
- Manage technical escalations and resolve engineering/execution challenges.
- Execute projects in line with Fluence safety requirements and KPIs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel across the EMEA region for project support and stakeholder engagement.
Key requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in design and execution of utility-scale power systems, PV plants, BESS, or similar energy projects in EMEA.
- Strong EPC project experience involving high-voltage, renewable energy, or conventional power generation.
- Excellent technical understanding of complex energy projects and engineering principles.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience coordinating multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English; German or other European languages advantageous.
- Completion of Fluence safety training programs.
