FLSmidth is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Technical Advisor to join our Site Services and Shutdown team based in Welshpool, WA. This role has been created to support continued growth and increasing customer demand across our service operations.As a Technical Advisor, you will play a key role overseeing mechanical service, shutdown maintenance, inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support on OEM fixed plant equipment across customer sites. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical capability, customer engagement skills, and the ability to lead crews during shutdowns and field service activities.Extensive travel, including international travel at times, will be required.What you will be doingLead and coordinate field service, shutdown, commissioning, and maintenance activities on OEM equipmentPerform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systemsSupport customers with technical advisory services and maintenance planningSupervise and mentor site personnel and contractors during shutdown and commissioning activitiesInterpret technical drawings and schematics to support field executionPromote a strong safety culture across all activitiesBuild strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and improvementsWhat you bringMechanical Fitter, Machinist, or similar trade qualificationExperience working with fixed plant mining equipment in heavy industry environmentsTechnical advisory experience across OEM equipment such as crushers, mills, screens, thickeners, flotation cells, reclaimers, stackers, belt filters, or similarStrong shutdown and commissioning experience within mining operationsSupervisory or team leadership experience in field service environmentsAbility to work autonomously while collaborating with internal and external stakeholdersStrong customer communication and relationship management skillsAbility and willingness to travel extensivelyIntermediate computer skills and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematicsHard rock mining experience highly regardedWhy join FLSmidth?Competitive remuneration packageOpportunity to develop your technical and leadership capabilities within a global OEMLong-term career stability with an established global organisation operating since 1882Ongoing training and development opportunitiesSalary packaging options to maximise after-tax incomePaid parental leave and purchased annual leave optionsEmployee Assistance Program for employees and immediate familyAs an equal-opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
