The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 Β£ per year.
Responsibilities include leading process design activities to deliver Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Advanced Technologies projects. Extensive experience in delivering front-end design for site master planning, feasibility, and concept studies, along with in-depth experience in basic/detail design stages is required.
Key duties involve:
- Providing engineering and technical support for complex projects, acting as the main interface with clients, discipline engineers, and management.
- Proficiency in Aspen and/or Inteligen Simulation Software, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio (or other CAD drawing program), and Sketchup.
- Developing process flow and integrated equipment diagrams to aid in the preparation of facility general arrangements.
- Providing input about technology platforms in the industry and comparing options as required by clients.
- Working closely with the architectural team to arrange and size equipment to meet client process needs.
- Developing a priced equipment list and an I/O list.
- Analysing design challenges, evaluating options, and recommending solutions.
- Supporting business development efforts to secure new projects for the PDS.
- Planning and executing process tasks per contract requirements.
- Supporting estimating activities and equipment pricing.
- Assisting in the development of proposals.
- Sharing advanced chemical engineering practices and strategies within Fluor.
- Maintaining contact with external consultants and organizations for specialized services.
- Mentoring and training Fluor process engineers.
- Communicating effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrating an elevated level of technical knowledge in one or more manufacturing sectors served by ATLS.
- Using own initiatives based on previous experience in similar facility and/or process design roles.
- Applying an analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions.
- Incorporating safety into the process design to deliver an inherently safe process from the start.
- Assisting, and where required leading, the design coordination process on projects between technical disciplines.
- Exhibiting technical and business writing skills.
- Having a basic understanding of design, engineering calculation, procurement, equipment design, construction, commissioning, start-up, turnover work processes, sequencing, and interfaces.
- Resolving problems and being comfortable in complex projects or business environments.
- Travelling periodically to other Fluor offices or client locations in support of projects or routine business needs.
- Networking with industry organizations, contemporaries, and clients.
- Leading complex process design projects for one or more of the industry segments PDS serves.
- Having regulatory experience and being certified, with experience collaborating with multi-discipline project teams and understanding scope requirements at different project design phases.
Qualifications include an accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study and a minimum of fifteen years of work-related experience. Chartered Engineer preferred.
