We are seeking a talented disputes Associate (2-4 years’ PQE) to join our dynamic and growing team in London. You should have experience working in arbitration and litigation, at a highly regarded London practice.
Our firm has a strong sector focus in international trade (covering commodities, maritime and energy work), so experience in some or all of those sectors would be helpful, but it is not essential. You will be assisting our engaged partners and working with industry-leading clients on a number of disputes across our key sectors. You will be fully supported by our London team and a crucial part of the running, management and strategy of the cases you are involved in.
FZFZ is an international law firm with a global client base and offices spread across the UK, the US and Australia. We are a tight-knit team. We specialise in solving the biggest and most complex issues in the world of international trade. Our London team collaborates closely with our international offices and clients. Client secondment opportunities arise regularly at the firm. We have a growing team of exceptional lawyers with a variety of backgrounds and education. We all genuinely enjoy the work we do and work collaboratively in small teams.
We are based on High Holborn, near Holborn station. The office is a great space to work closely with the team (and to enjoy lunches and post-work drinks). We do not insist on full time “in office” work, but we do encourage people to be in regularly to work closely with one another. We will not consider remote only applicants.
What We’re Looking For
- English law qualified solicitor with 2-4 years’ PQE.
- Experience in arbitration and/or litigation at a recognised London disputes practice.
- Confidence managing your own case load and taking an active, client facing role in case management.
- A genuine interest in law and the legal principles at the heart of any dispute or drafting request.
- A creative and analytical thinker, adept at problem solving and finding solutions to difficult issues.
- A strong interest in international trade, commodities and maritime disputes (although legal experience in these fields is not necessary, it is helpful).
- Excellent academics, with at least a 2:1 or equivalent from a top university.
