Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Supplier Development & Performance Manager based in Skelmersdale. The role involves managing and improving supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics, including setting KPIs, tracking results, and driving corrective actions with suppliers. The Supplier Development & Performance Manager will build strong relationships with key suppliers, lead supplier audits and performance reviews, and work closely with internal teams such as procurement, product management, operations, quality, and supply chain to resolve issues and optimise supply. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include analysing supplier data, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and contributing to sourcing and supplier selection decisions. The role also includes developing supplier capabilities through training, coaching, and joint improvement projects, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant standards and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills to interpret supplier performance data, identify trends, and drive evidence‑based decisions.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and to lead performance reviews and negotiations.
  • Proven experience in Performance Management, including setting KPIs, monitoring results, and implementing improvement plans with suppliers.
  • Experience in Training and developing supplier and internal teams on processes, standards, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Budgeting skills to support cost management, value improvement initiatives, and supplier‑related financial planning.
  • Background in supply chain, procurement, quality, or operations, ideally within industrial, hydraulic, pneumatic, or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and supplier audit processes is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Skelmersdale, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field.
