The Opportunity
Reporting to the Major Projects Director, you will lead the design function across a portfolio of major engineering projects, taking ownership of the MEICA design strategy from concept through to commissioning. Working closely with clients, engineers and project delivery teams, you'll ensure innovative, commercially robust and technically excellent solutions are delivered across multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the MEICA design and engineering function across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, automation and hydraulic disciplines.
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Drive engineering governance, technical assurance and design excellence.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Work collaboratively with clients, contractors and stakeholders to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
- Champion continuous improvement, technical innovation and best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
You'll be an experienced engineering leader with the technical credibility and commercial awareness to lead large-scale MEICA projects. You'll ideally bring:
- Extensive experience leading project design within MEICA, hydraulic or major infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, control, automation and hydraulic engineering.
- Experience managing multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
- A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, together with strong knowledge of engineering standards and project delivery best practice.
