About the Company
Our client is a well-established international business in the environmental services sector, providing advanced industrial purification and filtration solutions that help companies reduce their environmental impact across a wide range of industries. Active in multiple European markets and growing quickly, the company is now building out its commercial team in the United Kingdom and is looking for a driven sales professional to help expand its client base.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine new-business "hunter" role. Demand for sustainable industrial purification is rising fast, and you will be the person opening doors β identifying, winning and developing new clients across key UK industries, and matching the right technical solution to each prospect. You will own your territory commercially, with the backing of in-house application specialists and an internal sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Win new business: generate, develop and close opportunities within strategic target markets in your territory, including representing the company at industry trade events during the year.
- Shape the solution: combine your own technical and commercial judgement with the support of in-house specialists to tailor proposals to each client's process and requirements.
- Be on the road: regular travel within your territory (around three days a week is typical), with the occasional overnight stay each month and periodic visits to the group's head office in mainland Europe.
- Manage your pipeline: keep opportunities up to date in a sales-focused CRM platform and maintain consistent follow-up with contacts across purchasing, process engineering and plant management.
- Handle quotations: working alongside the internal sales team, prepare and present offers and respond to incoming enquiries quickly and professionally.
Candidate Profile
- Based in the UK, ideally in or around London, with the flexibility to cover the south-east and into the Midlands.
- A proven sales track record (at least 3 years) with a clear focus on acquiring new clients.
- An existing network in a relevant field is a real advantage β prior experience in sectors such as chemicals, water treatment, biogas, soil remediation or broader industrial and environmental processes will let you get up to speed quickly and bring contacts with you.
- Strong technical aptitude: able to grasp industrial processes quickly and explain complex solutions in clear terms.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and resilient, with a true hunter mentality suited to a longer, consultative sales cycle.
- Comfortable working independently from a home office while staying well connected to colleagues and management.
- Happy to travel frequently, with flexibility for the occasional overnight stay.
- Fluent in English at native level; additional languages are a plus.
If you don't tick every box but you're confident in your ability to win new business and would thrive in a collaborative, standards-driven culture, we'd still encourage you to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- A competitive base salary, set according to your experience.
- A package that includes a car allowance, mileage allowance, smartphone and mobile subscription, pension provision and a sales-related bonus.
- Home-based working with a high degree of autonomy, supported by regular contact with your team and manager and periodic team meetings in mainland Europe.
- A generous annual holiday allowance.
- Strong investment in your development, with a wide range of training opportunities.
- A structured, tailored onboarding plan to get you up and running smoothly from day one.
- You will join a team of dedicated sales colleagues across Europe and report into regional sales leadership.
