Our client is a respected international manufacturer of industrial machinery, supporting customers across the full equipment lifecycle — from installation and commissioning to maintenance and after-sales service. Due to continued growth in the UK market, they are looking to recruit their first UK-based Field Service Engineer to strengthen customer support nationwide, particularly across the Midlands region.

You’ll join a highly experienced European service team, with full technical support and structured training provided in Belgium and Germany.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on field-based position where no two days are the same. As a Field Service Engineer, you will travel across the UK installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial equipment directly at customer sites. The role offers a high level of autonomy while still benefiting from strong remote technical support from the European headquarters. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving, customer interaction, and working in diverse industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, commissioning, and testing of industrial machinery
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
  • Providing professional on-site technical support to customers
  • Completing service reports and technical documentation
  • Collaborating closely with the European service team
  • Attending technical training programmes in Belgium and Germany

Industry Exposure

Approximately 55% of projects within the cement industry; remaining work across bulk materials, powder handling, food production, and industrial processing sectors. Previous experience in these industries is beneficial but not essential. Strong technical skills, adaptability, and a willingness to work in industrial environments are what matter most.

Working Environment

You will regularly work within heavy industrial environments, including cement plants and production facilities where dust and powder exposure are part of daily operations. The company provides full PPE, training, and strict safety procedures to ensure safe working conditions at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable travelling extensively across the UK (50–70%)
  • Based ideally around Birmingham or Central England
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Fluent English communication skills

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary: £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
  • Paid overtime at 1.5x hourly rate
  • Fully equipped company van (personal use permitted)
  • 25 days holiday + pension scheme
  • Pension contributions: 5% employee, 3% employer
  • Structured onboarding and international technical training
  • Long-term career development within a growing international company
  • Opportunity to play a key role in building the UK service presence
