Flowstate is building a new category in AI workforce engineering, creating the single source of truth that makes AI spend insights, team planning, budgeting and forecasting ridiculously easy. By eliminating the need to download from multiple systems and hunting for spreadsheet versions, we provide fast, intelligent planning that keeps up with the speed of change. We’re growing fast: three enterprise clients have signed, more are in the pipeline, and both enterprise and startup customers are demanding dynamic resourcing solutions for engineering teams.
The role involves working full-stack, shipping features that solve real problems for engineering leaders. This isn’t a "build to spec" role—you’ll talk directly to customers, shape what we build, and own your work end-to-end. With no product managers on the team, customers and engineering set the direction and make product decisions together. Our product is already evolved, but there’s plenty of room to shape its next steps—including product direction and culture. If you’re curious about our stack, it’s very standard: TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, Express, Redis, Postgres on GCP, and Golang (for client-facing CLI utils).
Who we’re looking for: Ex-founders and engineers who move fast and thrive in ambiguity. You’ve built things from scratch and know what it takes to ship. You’re commercially minded, technically curious, and comfortable making decisions without waiting for permission.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience building products end-to-end, from problem discovery through to production.
- A knack for simplifying complex systems—our work involves financial modelling, data pipelines, and ML—so you need to enjoy untangling gnarly problems.
- Familiarity with our stack or something similar: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Next.js, Redis, Postgres, BigQuery, Python, PyTorch, and Docker.
- We’re open-source-first, built on the cloud but preferring common, portable tools before cloud-native services.
Bonus points:
- Experience building systems of record, financial products, FP&A tools, or integrations with PMS, ATS, and HRIS platforms.
- Exposure to LLMs (Claude, Gemini).
- Security fundamentals—OWASP, OAuth, SAML.
- Integrated with tools like Linear or JIRA.
What we offer: Equity in a fast-growing startup, competitive salary, Claude Code Max, a new high-spec MacBook Pro, and any tooling you need to move quickly. We’re a London-based team with a central office. We’re onsite most of the week, with flexibility to balance life outside work. We provide free lunch and standard startup perks; we’re in Moorgate!
The team currently consists of two ex-founders. Our CTO is a hands-on software engineer—you’ll work alongside them, not report up through layers.
Our values include:
- Curiosity — We’re driven by an insatiable desire to learn and do what’s best for the customer, the market, and each other.
- Run through walls — We do whatever it takes to succeed. We operate with a "yes…and" philosophy; nothing is out of reach.
- Be yourself — Weirdos welcome. We encourage individuality, freedom of expression, and contrarian thinking.
- Be the difference.
Our investors include a16z Scout Fund, Ventures Together, Haatch, and Openseed Fund I. If building a new category and shaping a company from the ground up sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
