The Precision Assembler will be responsible for preparing assembly work and documentation. This position involves assembling various equipment and tools, performing testing, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly during repair processes. The role provides access to modern materials and tools to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Location: Working on a client's site in Widness on a long-term maintenance contract.
Your Role:
- Complete assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, including testing when required.
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of inspection equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet specifications.
- Ensure all parts and components are clean before assembly and follow all assembly procedures.
- Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Operate precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier, and CMM, as well as hand tools like hydraulic torque wrenches and fire torches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs and adhere to company policies.
- Maintain a customer-service mindset for timely delivery and quality work.
- Promote team building and continuous improvement behaviours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Profile:
- Knowledge of automation control and electrical components.
- Experience as a mechanic for rotating machinery, mechanical devices, or as a general mechanic.
- General certificate of education or vocational training.
- HS Diploma / GED with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and convert measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, safety rules, and manuals.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends on short notice.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
