Flowserve is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Specialty Chemical market to support our Automation & Control Valve business unit. The Commercial Operation SME is the authority in regard to the Specialty Chemical market. As such, he/she is the go-to person for sales and Commercial operation when it comes to specifying products applicable to the Specialty Chemical market. The SME will collaborate globally with cross-functional teams including Commercial Operations, Sales, Engineering & Product Management to help increase bookings, revenue and profitability. This position has flexibility with the location. International travel requirement: 50%.
Responsibilities:
- Main role is to expand our presence and bookings in the Specialty Chemical market.
- Works with the commercial operation teams to define application guidelines to offer the best technical and commercial solution.
- Works with product management and engineering to help develop or customize products that meet market requirements including requested certification.
- Works with sales to enlist on vendor’s list specific to the Specialty Chemical market and develop capability to receive RFQs.
- Develop insights and recommendations related to market-level prices.
- Develop insights and recommendations related to service requirements.
- Understand competition and how to differentiate our solution in the Specialty Chemical application field.
- Develop training material to improve overall knowledge of various functions specific to the Specialty Chemical market.
Requirements:
- Deep product, service and solution expertise in the Specialty Chemical market and portfolio acquired through education or experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial operations, sales operations or related roles.
- Ability to interact globally and interface effectively across regions and functions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to produce professional reports and presentations.
- Think outside of the box and be creative to provide solutions.
