Industrial Maintenance Superintendents ensure optimal efficiency is achieved through supporting the Engineering Manager in the administration of daily duties, special projects, and optimising the competency of the industrial maintenance department. This position works closely with plant leaders and requires demonstration and competency of plant safety, legal/labour compliance and/or food quality standards. This role is also responsible for contributing to and fostering the professional development, aptitude and technical expertise/performance of all members of the industrial maintenance department.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the floor for all shifts: schedule and manage supervisors, plan and schedule preventive maintenance (PM), manage and mentor apprentices
- Approve and submit parts request
- Utilise SAP to review: PM orders, work requests, and down day planning, coordinating with other departments. Must review breakdown report and develop Root Cause Analysis (RCA), as needed
- Review execution of down day planning, comparing planning to execution
- Prepare and review overtime reports and time punch edits in Workforce Software
- Plan small scale maintenance projects with Engineering Manager
- Identify and solve repetitive maintenance issues
- Conduct floor walks with supervisors for shift-work verification
- Train and coach supervisors (soft skills, timecards, reviews, etc.)
- Conduct skill-based assessments for technicians
- Plan and execute seasonal verification (summer/winter/storm prep)
- Learn Capital Expenditure (CapEx) process
- Conduct critical process inspection work verification, critical equipment inspections, and PM work verification
- Execute the PM program modifications and provide input on assessments
- Demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, time management, and adaptability
- Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
- Perform other duties deemed by management to be integral to the role including but not limited to: fulfilment of work schedules, adherence to and enforcement of attendance policies & other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
- Possess or attain licenses required by their respective municipal, county/ward or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience with demonstrated knowledge in industrial electrical wiring, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) troubleshooting, motor control, and equipment repair and installation
Essential Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is desired/High school diploma or equivalent is required
