Bringing Home the Dough
Assists Director of Distribution in ensuring the safe, efficient and timely operation of the Shipping Department and Transport department as well as in the direction and oversight of the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems.
Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
- Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
- Carry out policies established by company officials and policy manuals.
- Ensures that shipping employees are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment.
- Directs and oversees activities of the Shipping Supervisors, 3rd party transport providers, and shipping employees.
- Functions in the capacity of the Distribution Manager in his/her absence.
- Ensures that products received from Production Department and from other plants are properly handled and shipped on schedule.
- Ensures that sales department and affiliated companies receive products ordered on schedule.
- Assists in the recruitment of qualified personnel to meet shipping and transport personnel needs.
- Develops and maintains good employee relations.
- Maintains Safety Programs and safe operating procedures and monitors employee compliance.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area.
- Assists Distribution Manager in maintaining familiarization and compliance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sarbanes Oxley, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.)
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
- Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

Two (2) or more years experience as transport driver or supervisor and two (2) years experience as Shipping Supervisor.
