Our client runs an established and reputable, 14 bedroom Adults Residential Care Home based in Workington, Cumbria. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Care Home Manager to join their team.
Position Overview
Establishing and maintaining high quality care within a residential setting for adults in a 14‑bedroom home. You will work in ways that enable people to achieve in all areas of life, by overseeing the operation and development of the service. Provide leadership and guidance to the team creating a person‑centred culture. Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies whilst upholding the charity values, standards, and expected behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
- Create an environment where the people we support can develop self‑esteem and confidence focusing on independent living and social interaction.
- Manage the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements, charity policy and procedure.
- Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements and ensure the effective running of the service.
- Implement quality management and improvement systems.
- Effectively manage complaints and incidents.
- Understand and manage health and safety in the workplace.
- Promote the rights of each service user and keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
- Manage the administering of medication to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the service users in line with the medication policy and procedure.
- Complete, observe and review care/support plans, risk assessment and complete written daily recordings in line with policies and procedures, dignity and respect.
- Apply excellent communication skills with service users, their families and representatives, staff and other health and social care professionals to deliver a high‑quality service.
Key Experience/Qualifications
- Have a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
- Have supervisory experience in adult residential social care services.
- Demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations and standards.
- Have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Promote equality and diversity, dignity and respect.
- Have excellent organisation and communication skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Be responsive, use initiative and be able to work on own autonomy or as part of a team.
